THE MYSTERY OF THE MISSING JEWEL FISH

NARRATOR: Long long ago before dinosaurs were on the
             earth, there was a very
happy magical place that existed deep in the
ocean. It was known as the enchanted sea
kingdom. King Lionfish was the kind, wise
             and brave ruler.

GUARD #1 Attention, make way for King Lionfish.

NARRATOR: King Lionfish ruled over a very special
kingdom. They had the most beautiful and the
most valuable fish anywhere in the seas.
They were the precious jewel fish.

GUARD #2 : The royal kingdom is proud to present the
             precious jewel fish.

SONG: DIAMONDS ARE A GIRL'S BEST FRIEND

NARRATOR: Not only were these fish beautiful and
valuable the king felt that they were the
secret to his kingdom's happiness, and his
             fish were the happiest anywhere.

SONG: UNDER THE SEA
(King Lionfish on his throne. Mermaids on a rock
sitting and a fish band using ocean instruments.
Towards the end of the song the mermaids start
coughing and the band starts squeaking on their
instruments, this will end the song. As the band is
playing all others exit the stage. The pirate fish
sneak on, knock out the guards, and steal the jewel
     fish.)

KING LIONFISH: My fish, my fish, whatever is the matter?

MERMAID #2: We don't know your highness.

MERMAID #4: Something is very wrong.

BAND: Yeah, everytime we try to make music, all
             we get are squeaks

KING: I agree. (Rubs his ears) Something is wrong
and I will find out what it is. We must
keep the harmony in our sea kingdom. But
what could be wrong to cause these problems.
(He gets up and walks around like he is
checking his kingdom to find problems)

NARRATOR: The king is very puzzled. Something had
disturbed the harmony in his kingdom and he
could not rest until it was restored.

GUARD #1: The jewel fish have been stolen.

KING: My precious jewel fish. Summon Sherlock
Swordfish and Watson Walleye at once.

NARRATOR: Having found out his precious jewel fish
were gone, the king realized that his
kingdom was in trouble. So he called on his
special fish force. Sherlock Swordfish and
Watson Walleye, with hope that they could
find out what happened to his precious jewel
             fish.

(Enter Sherlock and Watson. They get on one knee and bow in
front of the king.)

SHERLOCK AND WATSON: At your service your highness.

KING: The kingdom's precious jewel fish have been
stolen and you are the fish to solve the
             mystery.

SHERLOCK AND WATSON: (Rub their heads in confusion)
Us? Are you sure you want us your highness?

KING: Yes! A king is always sure!

SHERLOCK AND WATSON: But are you sure?

KING: (ROAR) Yes, I said. Now be off at once.
Leave no shell unturned and no sea
             unsearched. (Leans towards them)
             Understand?

SHERLOCK AND WATSON: Yes your highness, we understand.

(King exits and Sherlock and Watson walk around rubbing
their heads confused)

NARRATOR: Well, now it was up to Sherlock Swordfish
and Watson Walleye to solve the mystery.
Only problem was is that they didn't know
where to begin and little did they know it
             would be an unforgettable journey.
Sherlock and Watson were pretty worried and
feeling lots of pressure. They are about to
find out they have some special helpers.

WATSON: Excuse me Sherlock, do you think we can
             solve this mystery?

SHERLOCK: Well, I don't think we have a choice.
If only we had some help.

MERMAIDS: Yoo Hoo Fellas

(Watson and Sherlock turn and rub their eyes in
disbelief)

SHERLOCK AND WATSON: Mermaids!

MERMAIDS: You got it dudes! (Thumbs up)

SHERLOCK: What do you want?

MERMAID #1: We are your guardian mermaids, and we are
going to give you the help you need to find
             the precious jewel fish.

MERMAID #2: First you will need faith and hope. Don't
ever give up no matter what you come up
             against.

MERMAID #3: Remember, don't loose your way and hold to
the truth in your hearts that you will find
a way to bring back the precious jewel
             fish.

MERMAIDS #4: And most important remember this.....

SONG: IF WE HOLD ON TOGETHER...
THE FIRST VERSE AND THE FIRST CHORUS

MERMAID #1: Now off you go. There is no time to waste.

MERMAID #2: We will be watching over you.

MERMAID #3: Good luck!

(Sherlock and Watson will start walking away and the
mermaids will be waving goodbye. Mermaids will fade.)
NARRATOR: So off went the fearless fish force of
Sherlock Swordfish and his trusty fish mate
Watson Walleye. They would have to look
very very very very carefully for important
clues that would lead them to the where
abouts of the valuable jewel fish.
They were uncertain of where they were going
but they knew that the guardian mermaids
were watching over them. Soon they saw
             something off in the distance.

SHERLOCK: Watson, I do believe I see something ahead.
Let's swim over and check things out.

WATSON: OK, you're the boss fish.

SHERLOCK: You know my dear Watson, I believe it is the
sea circus. All the fish have been bubbling
             about.

NARRATOR: So Sherlock and Watson headed toward the sea
circus in search of a clue. When they
arrived, the circus was packed with schools
of fish, but they managed to find a spot to
rest just as the show was ready to begin.
They were excited to be at the circus, but
             remained diligent in their quest.

RINGMASTER: Turtles, snails, frogs, and fish of all
sizes! Welcome to the first annual sea
circus. You will see things that will make
your gills turn blue! You will bubble with
excitement as our sea friends entertain.
So lean back and kick up your fins for a

lots of fun!!!!! Performing in ring one,

flapping and your tail twisting. So feel
free to join in with the colorful, colossal
             clown fish.

SONG: IF YOU'RE HAPPY

RINGMASTER: Well, we hope all of our friends of the sea
enjoyed our sea circus and we hope you'll
swim on by again real soon. Cause...(Sing)
there's no business like fish business, like
             no business I know.

SHERLOCK: Hey, Watson, did you see the clue?

WATSON: I'm not sure what to look for boss.

(Remember the clue should be very obvious. Sherlock and
Watson should be up and looking around.)

SHERLOCK: Watson, my fish, I do believe I have spotted
             the clue!

(Points at the clue and a child could hold up a sign that
tells the audience to cheer. They walk over to the clue
and pick up a red handkerchief.)
WATSON: A red handkerchief? What do you suppose
             that means boss?

SHERLOCK: Well, I'm not sure, Watson, But I'm sure it
has something to do with the jewel fish.

WATSON: So now what, boss? What do we do now?
Where do we go? Huh, boss?

SHERLOCK: I don't know, Watson. I don't know.

(Spot the Mermaids)

MERMAIDS: Sing.....
             Don't loose your way
             with each passing day.
             You've come so far,
             don't throw it away.
Live believing dreams are for weaving
             Wonders are waiting to start,
Live your story, faith hope and glory
Hold to the truth in your heart.

MERMAID #1: Hold to the truth in your heart.

SHERLOCK: That's right, Watson, the truth in our
hearts. We know we can do this. The Sea
             Kingdom is counting on us!!!

NARRATOR: So our trusty fish force was once again on
their way. They had one clue, a red
handkerchief, but what could that mean.
Their guardian mermaids had reminded them
that they should not loose their way,
that they should remember their dreams and
hold to the truth in their hearts.
Soon they found themselves coming to the
Rocky Cove. Neither of them had ever
             visited the Rocky Cove before.
They did not know what to expect. But they
knew that somewhere in the Rocky Cove lay
another clue. But would they be able to
             find it?

WATSON: I don't know, boss. Do we have to go there?

SHERLOCK: Yes, my fish, Watson. We know there is a
clue. It is our mission. Let's go.

(He has to push Watson to go in. Inside there is a rock
concert. Sherlock and Watson sit down and watch the
show.)

WATSON: Look out for the octopi.

SONG: OCTOPUS' GARDEN

OCTOPUS: Here's a little soul for your entertainment.

SONG: SOUL FISH I'M A SOUL MAN

SOUL FISH: Hey, man, here come the beatle fish in their
             yellow submarines.

SONG: YELLOW SUBMARINE

BEATLE: This next group will electrify you.

SONGS: EELS

EEL: Watch out for the M.C. Hammer sharks!

SONG: Hammerhead Sharks

SHARK: Now for the stars of the show!

SONG: STARFISH I WISH I WERE A FISH

(When the concert is over, Watson and Sherlock stand up
and begin searching for the missing clue.)

NARRATOR: Well, I don't think our fearless fish force
expected a rock concert in the Rocky Cove.
But now it looks like they are trying to
find a second clue. But where could it be?

(Watson and Sherlock could be on the floor looking with a
magnifying glass. Watson will accidently bump right into
the clue. Someone hold up a sign for the audience to
cheer for Watson.)

WATSON: Hey, boss! I found the clue. I found the
             clue!!
(Clue will be a black eye patch.)

SHERLOCK: Well, my dear fish Watson, I do believe you
have! Good work old chap. Now let's see,
we have a red handkerchief and a black eye
patch. What do you suppose that means?

WATSON: I don't know, boss, but I bet if we could
             find one more clue we
             would solve the mystery!

SHERLOCK: Watson, that is a good point. After all
that is what we learned in fish academy.
Three clues usually mean you can solve your
case. But where should we look for that
             third clue?

(Someone holds up a sign that has everyone say HUMMMMMMM.)
(Spot light on the mermaids)

MERMAIDS: Don't loose your way, with each passing day.
Don't loose your way, with each passing day.
Don't loose your way, with each passing day.

(They will sing and repeat several times and gradually
fade it out.)

NARRATOR: Well, once again they are swimming off to a
new sea in search of yet another clue.
A red handkerchief and a black eye patch are
the only clues they have, but our fearless
fish force has remembered what their
guardian mermaids have told them. They also
know that they have to work together. After
all two fish are better than one. Well,
Sherlock and Watson head off to seas never
traveled before. Soon they come to foreign
waters, The Caribbean Sea. Let's see what
             awaits them there.

(Watson and Sherlock walk into a Party Gras!!)

ALL KIDS: It's Party Gras!!!

SONG: LIMBO CLAMS

SONG: FANS

NARRATOR: Sherlock Swordfish and Watson Walleye had
never been to such a party!

(Sherlock and Watson should be standing up and dancing to
the beat of the songs.)

NARRATOR: In fact they were having so much fun that
they almost forgot about finding the third
             and last clue.

MERMAIDS: Don't loose your way with each passing day.
You've come so far, don't throw it away.
Live believing dreams are for weaving,
             Wonders are waiting to start.
Live your story, faith hope and glory.
Hold to the truth in your heart.

(Sherlock will stop dancing and grab and shake Watson.)

SHERLOCK: Watson, what are we doing? Have you
forgotten that we are on a very important
mission? Now let's find the clue.

(Watson and Sherlock begin looking around for the third
clue.)

NARRATOR: Well, it looks like our trusty fish force is
at it again looking for that third and last
clue. They look good and hard to find these
clues. Let's hope that they find it soon
because back at the castle things are
getting tense. The king is beginning to
have strong doubts that the peace will ever
             return to the kingdom.

(Spot light the King looking worried.)

NARRATOR: And the jewel fish, well, they just want to
go home. Wait a minute... I think that..

(Sherlock grabs the clue and jumps up and down.)

NARRATOR: Yes, he did it. Sherlock has found the
third and last clue that will lead them to
             the precious jewel fish!!!

(Child holds up a sign that tells the audience to cheer.)

SHERLOCK: We did it, Watson!! We did it!!

WATSON: What's the third clue, boss?

SHERLOCK: It looks like a treasure map, Watson.
             Now let's see...we first got a red
handkerchief, then we got a black eye patch,
and now we have an old treasure map.

WATSON: A red handkerchief, a black eye patch, and
             an old treasure map. Hmmmmmmm

SHERLOCK: I think I've got it, Watson!! It's the
             pirates!!

(Child holds up a sign for the audience to cheer.)

SHERLOCK: Now we only have one problem, and that is,
how are we going to get the precious jewel
fish away from the sea pirates?

(The pirate ship will come out and the pirates and jewel
fish which will be tied up.)

SONG: PIRATES SONG

SHERLOCK: I've got it! Watson, what is the one thing
that pirates want more than the precious
             jewel fish?

WATSON: Uh......A big treasure chest?

SHERLOCK: You've got it, Watson!! That is our
solution! We will take a big treasure chest
to the pirates and offer it to them in
exchange for the precious jewel fish.

WATSON: Will it work, Sherlock?

SHERLOCK: It has to, Watson. It just has to! Let's go,
Watson, we have no time to waste.

NARRATOR: So they did it. They figured out who took
the precious jewel fish, and they figured
out a plan to exchange the treasure chest
for the kingdom's precious jewel fish.
Now their swimming off to the point of no
return...to where the pirates call home.
Our two detectives are nervous to say the
least. Not very many fish dare enter the
waters that the pirates call home.
Sherlock and Watson know that a lot of fish
have entered but few return. But the sea
kingdom is counting on them to restore the
harmony in their kingdom, so they press on.
Soon they arrive and are surrounded by the
             pirates.

CAPTAIN: Why do you dare enter the point of no
             return?

(Watson and Sherlock shake.)

CAPTAIN: Answer you spineless guppies!

(Sherlock straightens up and answers)

SHERLOCK: We are not spineless guppies!!! We are here
on a mission to rescue the precious jewel
             fish!!

CAPTAIN: And what makes you think I will give them
             back?
(Watson gets brave.)

WATSON: Because they belong to our kingdom!
Besides, why did you take them in the first
             place

CAPTAIN: Well, because, well, because, we couldn't
             find the treasure chest.
What kind of pirates would we be without a
treasure chest? The other ships would roar
with bubbles of laughter at a group of
             pirates with no treasure.

SHERLOCK: Is that why you took the precious jewel
             fish?

(Captain and the other pirates nod.)

SHERLOCK: Well, we have a solution.
             (Shows the treasure chest.)
The jewel fish are as valuable to our
kingdom as a treasure chest is to yours.
How about a trade? It will be on fish's
             honor of course.

(All the pirates cheer and they release the jewel fish.
Watson puts a fin around Sherlock. They will walk back to
the kingdom.)

KING: My fish, my fish, my precious jewel fish.
Harmony will now return to our kingdom.

WATSON: You see, my dear Sherlock, there is nothing
we can't do if we work together.

(Everyone enters and the music begins.)
