AUTHOR: William Thimsen, AZ
GRADE LEVELS/SUBJECT: 2 - 8,
reading, social studies and science.
OVERVIEW: This exercise is an excellent review for chapters
which have just been completed.
PURPOSE: This lesson is a reinforcement for materials recently
learned.
OBJECTIVES: That the students will be fortified with
information they have obtained in recent chapters.
RESOURCES/MATERIALS: Old magazines, large sheets of paper,
felt markers, crayons.
ACTIVITIES AND PROCEDURES: The students will cut out or draw
pictures having to do with the previous chapter and paste
them on a large sheet of paper. The sheet of paper will
contain pictures from each student. The paper will then be
displayed for a set amount of time, then folded. The students
will, from memory, list as many items as they can think of.
TYING IT ALL TOGETHER - We rename all the items that were
posted on the large sheet of paper and discuss how each one
was related to what we just studied from the textbook. This
lesson can be done in 1 or 2 thirty minute periods.
