The project a "Classroom of Tomorrow" creates a model for the classroom of tomorrow. This model integrates all parts of the curriculum. A framework will be created that ties together critical thinking, cooperative learning, computer technology, whole language and student modifications. Meaningful life experiences that show students the relationship between learning and living will be provided. The children will work in a warm humanistic classroom climate. The outcome will be students who think, solve problems, and communicate clearly. Students will be equipped to handle the demands of an ever changing society. The design of the classroom will integrate current accepted teaching practices into a total innovative classroom- a "Classroom of Tomorrow." (1991)

The project "Science Along Sauk Trail" was created to develop a project based science course using Sauk Trail as a focus of science topics with a local emphasis. Rich East High School is located on Sauk Trail in Park Forest, Illinois. Sauk Trail is a highway that crosses the state in an East/West direction. Historically Sauk Trail was an Indian trail. The trail was also used by early settlers on their way west. Students use computers as word processors, to organize data and create spreadsheets, make graphs and charts, create multimedia presentations and communicate through the Internet. We also hope to develop projects that share data collected by schools across the state. Technology and communication is a vital part of our curriculum development. (1994)

The "WEIRD SCIENCE/CHEM WEST" project is designed to teach science by introducing the phenomenon first through a demonstration. WEIRD SCIENCE program is a stage show that presents a series of demonstrations and teaching tips which will turn on even the most comatose students and motivate teachers of all levels. WEIRD SCIENCE specializes in short, easy and sometimes "weird" demonstrations that convey the principles of chemical/ physical phenomena. CHEM WEST is a Chicago area chemistry teachers' alliance network group of 400 teachers. It provides a forum for the dissemination of chemistry information, ideas, material, methodologies, and safety regulations. In other words CHEM WEST is committed to teachers sharing with teachers. At the meetings the emphasis is on the phenomenological approach to
teaching science. (1993)
