The "Elementary Science Improvement" project fellowship provides a sabbatical to serve as the Coordinator for this project that focuses on teacher training and physical science. K-5th grade teachers from five schools will participate in this project. (1989)

Michael F. Hutchins

"Increasing Access and Use of NovaNet Curricula" fellowship will provide funds to work as a consultant to the University of Maine Upward Bound Program for underachieving students. (1990)

Patricia Jones

"What Makes Learning Success?" The project sought answers to the question from public school students, college scholars, parents, and administrators in visits to more than fifty classrooms. (1987)

Ellen K. Ross

"Biology Applications for the Science Integrated Classroom." My fellowship involved a shadow- participation program with five major industries or businesses (a paper mill, a blood research facility, Maremount Defense Systems, an aquarium-museum business and several state departments) over an 11-month period. The goal was to produce environmental activities and laboratories, primarily for use by high school teachers or the junior high level. (1988)

Molly Schen

"Challenges of Redefinition: A Teacher's Role and a High School Diploma" project features a sabbatical to research and develop a competency-based high school diploma. The fellow will serve as a resource person and project coordinator and will publish articles on results from program assessments. (1992)
