Paul M. Ekberg

The "Nebraska Ground/Surface Water Education Project" is an innovative pilot program that will focus on purchasing computer equipment to set up a system that will connect to the NEBLINK system. Participating schools will have contact with State and Federal Government mentor agencies to study these problems. Statewide workshops and curriculum development are also featured. (1992)

Virgil Wayne King

The "Platte River Environmental Impact Study" is designed to make students aware of human effects on water and associated habitats. This sabbatical will allow the fellow to serve as program director. Teaching strategies, cooperative learning, field trips, individual student projects, and guest experts are featured as part of this project. (1991)

Susan B. Koba

The "Expanding Science Enrollment to Include the Non-Traditional Science Student" project focuses on increasing involvement of minority students in science classes and associated activities. High School students mentored small groups in Elementary classrooms, taught science lessons on a weekly basis and served as role models. The project culminated in an Elementary Science Field Day at North High, which was conducted by high school students. (1990)
