"The Silent Often Forgotten Side of American Culture:
The American Indian" fellowship award will be used
to take a sabbatical to work on a project focused on
Native American studies. Program results will be shared
with other State teachers to develop curriculum
materials to incorporate Indian history in the areas of
literature, history, and science. (1989)

peacemaking. A manual and video will be produced

The "Mathematical Experiments in Fractals and Patterns"
will provide a half-year sabbatical for coursework and
and independent research, to purchase classroom computer
technology, and to network with experts to improve her
teaching skills. Language and writing skills will be
incorporated into mathematical projects and to integrate
classroom computers into learning and reasoning in
spatial contexts. Teacher training will also be
included. (1991)
