Donna G. Butler

The project "The Arts and Integration of the Special Needs Child" provided for a sabbatical to achieve growth by taking classes and research that will culminate in a handbook focused on integrating these children into art, music, and other special classes. (1991)

Susan Marie Frost

"The Silent Often Forgotten Side of American Culture: The American Indian" fellowship award will be used to take a sabbatical to work on a project focused on Native American studies. Program results will be shared with other State teachers to develop curriculum materials to incorporate Indian history in the areas of literature, history, and science. (1989)

Patrice Anne McDonough

"Operation Cooperation" will research cooperative games and curriculum, conflict resolution, and peacemaking. A manual and video will be produced to share with other schools. (1990)

Deborah Lynn Sisson

The "Mathematical Experiments in Fractals and Patterns" will provide a half-year sabbatical for coursework and and independent research, to purchase classroom computer technology, and to network with experts to improve her teaching skills. Language and writing skills will be incorporated into mathematical projects and to integrate classroom computers into learning and reasoning in spatial contexts. Teacher training will also be included. (1991)
