"From the Sundagger to the Great Observatories" project includes
18 topics developed and presented to 452 classes in 20 elementary
schools, 6 junior high schools, 1 private, 1 B/A school in San Juan
County involving approximately 10,000 students. Forty displays and
presentations were given to teacher and civic organizations.
Ladera students from Kindergarten through 6th grade designed,
collected donations, constructed by district's welding program
and arrange the installation of a space shuttle shaped mini park.
The playground was later dedicated by a NASA astronaut who was a
guest speaker. (1989)

The project "TIPS (Teaching In Pueblo Settings)" utilizes secondary
level students to teach culturally relevant lessons such as math,
science, engineering, and computers to elementary students.
Participants are Native Americans from New Mexico and Arizona
reservation communities. Many lessons are conducted in Navajo or
other indigenous languages. (1992)

The project designs a "Hands-On" Nature Center with different
ecosystems: such as a Rain forest, Desert Region, Pond Life Area,
Forest Region, an Archeological Dig and Rock and Mineral Area. (1994)
