The "Christa McAuliffe Space Education Center" project is a 4000 square foot building added on to Central Elementary School. The facility contains a classroom, the USS Voyager (a starship simulator capable of taking 30 students on simulated social study adventures into the Galaxy. Missions range from 2 hours to 5 days), and the USS ISES(an inner body ship which can double as a submarine). ISES is used for Biomedical research and ocean studies. (1989)
