NEGP Monthly for June 2000

The June NEGP Monthly reports policies in Massachusetts, Florida and
Connecticut that improved the proportion of children in these states born
without important health risks. In each state, officials independently
point to programs for early maternal health care that use Healthy Start
program funds. The NEGP Monthly also describes the design and some findings
of the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, a major new NCES study of young
children and their academic readiness for school.
