NEGP Monthly for September, 2000

On October 2, 2000 at the National Education Goals Panel's fourth Field
Hearing in Chicago, IL, the NEGP will release Minnesota & TIMSS: Exploring
High Achievement in Eighth Grade Science.  It is previewed in this month's
NEGP MONTHLY as groundwork for using the rich data that will be available
soon from TIMSS-R, administered in 1999.  National data will be available
first, followed next spring by data for the 13 states and 14 districts that
participated in TIMSS-R.   The additional states which will receive TIMSS-R
results this spring are Connecticut, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland,
Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania,
South Carolina, and Texas.
