Grades and ages: grades 5 and 6, ages 10-13

Description of school: We are a public school, located in a very fast growing area. Our school hours are 8:45-3:45. Core subjects are taught along with fine arts (art, band and music)daily. Physical Education is every other day and computor class is every 5 days. Competition for theses events will be held in Physical Education class. Class size for Physical Education is 75-85 with two certified teachers. The academic classes average 25-29 students per teacher. We have a large grass field and a large parking lot in which we will compete.

Community discription: "The Woodlands" is a community of 85,000. It is located about 30 miles North of Houston, Texas. Many who live here also work here. We have a shopping Mall and there are over a hundred stores and reasurants in our community. We are surrounded by trees which makes for a beautiful setting. We are home to a annual TPC golf tournament every year about this time. There are 3 golf courses in this community. Our town is divided by Villages and Mitchell Intermediate is located in the Village of Alden Bridge. There are miles of hike and bike trails throughout The Woodlands, families can walk, bike or skate to just about anywhere in our town.
The wild flowers are blooming now and it is beautiful.
