What follows are suggestions for conducting an interview with a current or former athlete. Feel free to revise, delete, or add questions that are pertinent to the person you are interviewing. These same questions can serve as a guide for your to talk about your own athletic endeavors.

Frequency and duration of practice sessions
Length of competitive season
Numbers and types of coaches you have or had
Reasons for competing in that sport
Typical number of games or races in a competitive season
Describe the awards given to the winners
Describe the awards you have received
Describe the greatest moment of your athletic career
