Description of your school:
Reporoa College is part of a rural community. It has 295 pupils, which is
quite a small school in New Zealand, with classes from Year 7 to Year 13.
We have five periods a day, each period is a different subject and is one
hour long. Some of the subjects I have are English, social studies, science,
P.E. and Maori. Maori is the language spoken by our indigenous people.
We begin classes at 8.50 am and finish at 3.10 pm. After periods one and
three, we have interval, and after periods three and four we have lunch.
We have period five after lunch and then it is time for home.
We have 18 classrooms, a library, an outdoor swimming pool, a gymnasium and
an assembly hall. We have two rugby fields, a soccer field, a hockey field
and three tennis courts.
Our uniform is a black, white and green jacket with the Reporoa College logo
on it. The girls wear a black skirt with a white polo shirt and black shoes
or sandals. The boys wear green shorts or black trousers with a white polo
shirt.
We have two College houses or teams, called Lovelock and Hillary. Lovelock
is named after a famous New Zealand middle distance runner and Hillary is
named after the New Zealander who was the first man to climb to the top of
Mount Everest.
I hope you have enjoyed my description of Reporoa College.
