Description of your school:
Kemps Landing is a magnet school within the Va. Beach Public School System. Students must apply to get into the program and are accepted based on test scores and recommendations. It has an enrollment of 600. Teaching is rich in differentiation for the gifted child.
Students attend classes from 8:10 to 3:10. They are on the block schedule for core classes and periods for electives. All 6th graders must take Latin and physical education and health are required for 6th and 7th graders. 8th graders may take it by semester on as an elective.

Description of your community:
Va. Beach is a city of 400, O00 plus. It is a beautiful city with beautiful beaches.
It has a high military presence with Oceana Air Base in Va. Beach and the world's largest naval base located in Norfolk.

Description of sports done in your school:
Currently our students have participated in flag football, Styxball(a modified game of Lacrosse) , team handball, basketball, speed ball, and have placed emphasis on fitness.
They will be participating in soccer, softball, field hockey, and in-line skating by the end of the year.
