Description of your school:
Miroslav Vilhar Primary School is a public school. Pupils are divided into 24 classes and have from 20 to 32 lessons per week. The number of pupils in a class varies from 19 to 26. The subject taught are in accordance with the National Curriculum (Slovene (our mother tongue), English, Italian, German, Art, Music, PE, Craft, Science, Computer science, Geography, History...).
The competition will be performed outdoors, on track and grass field in 6 disciplines. It will be carried out in 2 parts: on 18th April (lower grades) and on 24th April (upper grades), in case of favourable weather conditions. Pupils of all grades will take part.
Description of your community:
Postojna is a minor city with about 15.000 inhabitants. It is situated in the attractive and unique Karst landscape. The most famous sights of the area are the Postojna Caves, the Predjama Castle, the nearby intermittent Cerknica Lake, and lots of other smaller non-commercial but very interesting caves, lakes and other Karst phenomena.
The highest peak of the region is Nanos (1264 m), frequently visited and climbed by local and other inhabitants. We are very proud of it.
