Description of your school: Herajoki Elementary school is a quite little
school in a beautiful countryside in the southern Finland. Our school is
specialized in Drama, Environmental Arts and Computer work. Class sizes are
from 15 to 20 pupils. Appr. duration of school week is 22 hours / week. There
are 130 pupils in our school, 6 class teachers and one kindergarden teacher,
two school assistants, one cleaner and one cook in the school. The school year
starts in 18th Aug. and finishes in the end of May. Then we'll have 2,5 month
summer vacation.
THIS IS OUR 5TH TIME TO PARTICIPATE THE TELEOLYMPICS!
Description of your community: Riihimaki is a little town with 25 000
peoples. The town is known by its glass factory history. Riihimaki is situated
in a very important cross of railways from south, north and east and also in
a very important cross of motorways from each points of the compass. There
are very many theater amateurs in the town.
Description of sports done in your school: Athletics, orientation,
swimming, Finnish Baseball, floor ball, skiing, skating, football, volleyball,
basketball, gymnastics, hand ball, badminton, creative sports, creative dance.
