Description of your school: Dundee Middle School is a public school with about 550 students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Every day school starts at 9:00 and we get out at 3:45. Each period is about 45 minutes long. We take all of the regular subjects like social studies and language arts as well as subjects like modular technology and art and French. Our school is in the middle of the country so we have lots of grass where we can complete as well as a nice asphalt track.
Description of your community: Students at DMS come from several communties--Carpentersville, Sleepy Hollow, Gilberts, Algonquin, and Dundee. We are a suburb of Chicago, which is about an hour away on Interstate 90. Our school district has 15,000 students. We are a very fast growing area with new houses being built all of the time. Our school is in the country but probably not for long. Our most popular attraction is the Fox River and the bike path that goes for miles and miles. Summer fun is at Santa's Village and Dolphin Cove.
Description of sports done in your school: Seventh and eighth graders can participate in basketball (girls and boys), wrestlilng, volleyball, cross country, and track and field. Sixth graders participate in the Sixth Grade Basketball Tournament, which lets every student play basketball, cheer, or do pon-poms
