I was wondering how the "total" cholesterol number is calculated. It doesn't seem to be the total of "good" and "bad" cholesterol.
Thanks.
Answer ---------
LDL = bad cholesterol; HDL = good cholesterol
The calculation is as follows:
LDL = Total cholesterol - HDL - (Triglycerides/5)
