: Other causes would include psoriasis, candida (no color...just yeast),
: allergic reactions to things such as formaldehyde in nail polish. Hope

Psoriasis, huh, how about digital dermititus? I also have bad allergies, but hadn't worn nail polish in close to a year. I thought possibly a reaction to the drug Prozac, although this is not a known side affect, it seems like it started shortly after I started on this drug.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Tetracycline is known to lead to nail separation from the nail bed. I've never heard of Prozac doing that. Is it all 10 nails? Did it happen soon after sun exposure (beach?...extended outdoors?). Any dermatitis (inflammation of the skin) that involved the distal fingers or toes can affect the nail, so you are correct with that thought. The question is whether there is some specific cause for your dermatitis. Until next.
