I get little ingrown hairs on my face that cause blemishes. Overall I have very nice skin but one of these hairs can put a blemish on my face that will last a week or two. Is there anything that can be done to avoid this? I shave with and electric razor. Should I switch to a blade or something like that?

Can you grow a beard? Longer hair will help prevent the ingrown hairs. Recent paper talked about using alpha-hydroxy acids to minimize this problem (glycolic and lactic acids...many OTC and others available through dermatologist or plastic surgeons). Razor called PFB razor will shave with a "five-o'clock shadow" and may help. Sometimes Retin-A can also help. You'll probably want to see a dermatologist, but I would call to see if they are familiar with glycolic acids.
