I am 52 years old and take hormones for my body. Lately, I have experienced very deep and hot flushes to the face (body flushes have been prominent but not unbearable during the menopause process so far). These flushes can occur day or night without warning and are so intense it is as if someone slapped me hard across my cheeks. The frightening part is that lately I have found tons of tiny broken blood vessels on my cheeks! I have very fair skin and stay out of the sun mostly. What is happening? Can I have these little veins removed? Can I stop this madness with some medication? Help!
Answer ---------
You need to see a physician. While this could be rosacea, it could also be a sign of endocrine problems. Please get looked at/seen soon. Tiny blood vessels can often be treated with a pulsed-dye laser as one effective option. Call your local dermatologist(s) to see if they are offering treatment with this laser. Eliot
