* Purchased Hot Tub Dec. 94
* Was able to enjoy tub for 3 to 4 months
* After this time soon developed a itching sensation after leaving tub
* Continued time spent in tub only caused large pustule lesions
* At first folliculitis was the suspect and creams were administered
* These creams did help but any use of the tub has not been possible
* Recently noticed ---When getting into tub any exposed skin quickly turns red
* Please help --------I have enjoyed hot tubs for many years and would like
to continue to do so.
Answer -----------
Often a bacterial (pseudomonal) folliculitis. Clean the water/tub. Often resolves. If does not resolve, you must see a dermatologist to evaluate and possibly get on antibiotics. Keep on living. I'm very much a pragmatist when it comes to therapy. I want my patients to keep doing what they enjoy and would encourage you to seek therapy as needed so you can continue the mental/body therapy you get from the hot tub.
Anyone else breaking out? I'm not getting in your tub....Eliot
