What are the main side effects, aside from pregnancy, during the use of Accutane for a female? How long do you usually have to take it, and what is the deal with liver damage and Accutane? Also, if you had a choice, would it be better to start treatment with Accutane in the summer because of the humid, moist weather, or in the winter months with the dry weather. I am just asking this because I know the face and mouth really drys out with Accutane, and I have an oily face. Thanks!
Answer -----------------
Accutane is a great medication for severe cystic acne. For medicolegal reasons, I will suggest that you obtain the full informational pamphlet from your local dermatologist or the company (Roche). With respect to winter or summer, I would say that it doesn't matter what season so much...the real issue is when and if your acne is severe enough to require treatment with the drug. Sorry I can't say more. Eliot
