I was wondering whether the Retin-A product you mentioned has any side effects from exposure in the sun. I've heard that it causes skin cancer when used in the sun. Is it true? Even if one applies sunblock when in the sun? I would be glad if you could answer my queries.

Reply -------------------

Retin-A does cause increased sun sensitivity, but this seems to diminish after a few months of use. Sunburn does seem to increase risk for skin cancer, so increased precautions are important. Sunscreens are usually sufficient, but other sun protection such as hats and avoiding mid-day sun can also help. I have never heard of increased skin cancer risk from Retin-A, although there are some studies to SUGGEST (not prove) that it may decrease one's risk of skin cancer.
