Dear Doctor,

My son (16 years old) has had swollen lymph nodes for several months now. Two doctors have offered no suggestions as to the cause. Antibiotics have had no effect. He has a history of allergy and respiratory problems throughout his childhood.

Do you have any ideas?

I have previously posted responses regarding lymph node enlargement and these may be found in the "review" section of the ENT clinic under various titles such as "lymph nodes" or "lump in neck". I would recommend a consultation with an ENT physician when large lymph nodes persist for several months.
