My tonsils were removed because of tonsilitis. I was 39 years old. It was a horric ordeal. That was nine months ago. I still have an awful lot of discomfort. It has been established by my doctor that tissue has grown were my tonsils were and that I'd probably have to live with it.

I am miserable. It's always as though I have something stuck in my throat. I'm at my wits end. Any advise.

Thank you

More information would be required before making any suggestions. You mention throat discomfort and a feeling that something is stuck in your throat. Such symptoms can be due to a number of different causes ranging from chronic post-nasal drainage to a condition known as gastroesophageal reflux, the latter being a condition whereby stomach digestive acids reflux up the esophagus into the throat causing irritation to the lining. I would recommend a further evaluation by an otolaryngologist.
