I have been advised by Dr. L. C., the dept. chair, that I should have surgery that involves: nasal septoplasty, bil. total endoscopic ethmoidectomies, bil. frontal sinusectomies, and bil. nasal antral windows. I saw the CT scan, and have several polyps and masses of congestion and "crud" (technical term). I was on 2 months of antibiotics, and was still congested. Dr. L. C. claims to have performed 2000 of these, with only 6 adverse events, and all 6 pts are fine now. Is this a commonly-done operation? Do you know of his work?

MANY thanks!

Endoscopic sinus surgery is the most common type of sinus surgery performed by otolaryngologists. I am not personally aware of Dr L. C. nor could I make personal recommendations regarding your choice of a surgeon except to recommend that you decide on the basis of the surgeon's experience and qualifications.
