Eustachian tube dysfunction or middle ear fluid accumulation following or during an ear infection could cause a sensation of dysequilibrium or actual vertigo. Decongestants or antihistamine/decongestant combinations are often prescribed in this situation with variable success. However, there isn't one particular medication that is likely to be significantly more effective than others. Fortunately in most cases the symptoms are self-limited and will resolve with or without such medications.
