About 3 months ago I developed a swollen lymph mode behind one ear. I also developed a slight fever (about 100) for a couple of days. Other than that I had no other symptoms except feeling tired and weak. The swelling in the node went away after about 10-14 days. However, it has recently swollen again. I feel fine. The only other physical change has been that I feel a popping in my neck near the base of the skull when I turn my head. This has been going on for about 3 months also. I do not believe that I have been exposed to HIV but I am concerned about these symptoms. My doctor recently moved away and I do not yet have someone to go to. What types of things could cause these symptoms?

Persistent lymph node swelling in an adult that lasts for more than a month warrants a consultation with a physician. I have previously discussed lymph node swelling in previous posts which you can refer to in the "review" section of the ENT clinic under the title "lymph nodes". Refer to http://ofcn.org/cyber.serv/hwp/hwc/ent/ent/news/ent195.html and ..../ent199.html
