I have sufferred from allergies and sinus problems for the last five years. In the last year I have developed occassional asthma. These conditions have been persisitent rather than serious and have been managable with medications.Over the last two weeks I have been suffering from pressure in the forehead and at the sides of the forehead.I have also had pressure above and below the eyes which makes me feel as though they are swollen. This has begun to mildly affect my vision. There is also some familiar nasal discomfort.I am presently living and working in Taiwan so detailed medical advice is difficult to find.My local doctor suggested that a cold virus was affecting the trigimenal nerve. Is this a reasonable diagnosis or am I suffering from sinusitus?

Please comment thanks

Of course I wouldn't be able to make a diagnosis of your condition over the internet and based on the limited information provided. However, the symptoms you have described certainly could be caused by chronic sinus inflammation. A "cold virus affecting the trigeminal nerve" is not likely based upon your description of symptoms. I would suggest you see an otolaryngologist for an evaluation.
