I am a chronic sinus sufferer. I have had 3 sinus surgeries and have tried
all of the latest antibiotics and have even had an IV antibiotic for 1 month,
all to no avail! I continue to get monthly infections. My ENT says that the
CT scans and endoscopies show that everything is open and clear and that the
only thing he can do is continue to give me more antibiotics, which never do
the trick. He also said that the tissue in my sinuses is too diseased to
fight off any infection and that maybe I'll outgrow this. I am 28 years old
and am having serious doubts that this will happen!!
I am open to suggestions on any new therapies, treatments and/or studies.
Thanks a lot for the great web site and I'd appreciate any info. you may
have.

If it has not already been tried, I would strongly suggest the use of pulsatile nasal and sinus irrigation on a daily basis with dilute salt water solution using a Grossan nasal irrigator tip attached to a Water-pik. This can provide daily mechanical cleansing of the sinus surface and may help stimulate the cilia in the sinus lining back to normal function. Additionally, infections can be treated with topical solutions of antibiotics administered by means of this type of irrigation.
