I have been having sinus problems for the last 5 years, and the symptoms seem to be recurring more frequently as time passes.
My symptoms are:
soar throat
headache
sometimes chills or sweating
swollen glands (under my chin)
white puss bumps on my tonsils which are also swollen
sometimes a fever
I visited an ear, nose and throat doctor about two years ago and she did not find anything. I've also been to an infectious disease specialist and she too did not find anything. About 6 months ago I had an allergy test and discovered I was allergic to a number of things (pollen, types of grass, types of wood, types of mold, and cats). I had had a cat for a number of years, therefore I got rid of it, however I'm still getting the same symptoms. The allergist prescribed Claritin D 24hr, which I have been taking ever since (about six months), however its is not preventing me from getting these symptoms. Please advise me as to what I can do to stop or decrease the recurrence of these symptoms. I would appreciate ANY advice you can offer!!!
Thank you,

The symptoms you have described are suggestive of an inflammatory process however they are not particularly localized and therefore could be related to a wide variety of possible causes. Allergy is a very likely potential cause. Chronic sinusitis is also a possibility. It may be reasonable to have another visit with an otolaryngologist for consideration of a screening CT scan of the sinuses. A thorough evaluation by a primary care specialist would also be reasonable.
