A month ago I went to my MD with vertigo, upper teeth hurting, stiff neck-ear pain, and a fullness in ear. I was put on Vancenase, amoxicillin, and a decongestive ( I had no nasal or chest congestion). After a week the symptoms went away, but recurred during an airplane flight 2 days later.
I have been symptom free for a few days but the vertigo is back, with minor nausea.

Can sinus problems cause labrynthitis? I sometimes do a lot of flying and dont want to get back in this cycle again.

I have seen many patients who complain of dysequilibrium during acute or chronic sinus conditions. The cause of this is not always entirely clear but in many cases it may be related to secondary involvement of the eustachian tube or middle ear by generalized upper respiratory system inflammation. Furthermore, airplane flight during or following recent upper respiratory infections can aggravate or exacerbate eustachian tube dysfunction or middle ear inflammation.
