Dear Doc,
My wife suffered an attack in Feb (mild) followed by a more serious attack in early Jun lasting for 3 weeks. Our local Doctor prescribed SERC 16 with little positive effect; drowsiness was the major effect. The condition cleared up only now to be followed by another attack after a gap of 10 days.
My wife once again feels a persistent pain (dull ache) at the backs of her eyes and nose, dizziness all the time, tinitus and slight nausea, difficulty in focussing and difficulties in concentrating. Above all, she feelsa very depressed. Suggestions please?? (Note : We live in UK.)

Recurrent episodes of dizziness such as you have described warrant an evaluation by a specialist. There are many potential causes of the symptoms that you have described including inner ear disturbance, neurologic disorders, metabolic or hormonal disorders, etc. When they are not satisfactorily remedied by primary care medical intervention or when they are recurrent phenomena, specialty referral either to an ears, nose, throat specialist or a neurology specialist is indicated.
