The Eye Clinic Structure Information - Conjunctivia

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The CONJUNCTIVA is a transparent, mucous membrane that lines the outer surface of the eye, as well as the inner surface of the eyelids. It protects the outside of the eye. There are small blood vessels that run through the conjunctiva. When the eye is irritated, infected or injured, these blood vessels dilate open, making the white part of the eye look red.
