Parents Active for Vision Education would like to educate physicians regarding state-of-the-art optometric care, especially visual training. Visual training has been recognized by the American Optometric Association as an efficient modality in the treatment of certain deficiencies of the visual subsystems. We are also in possession of their efficacy paper and updates.

How can we best reach the physicians in the area?

Physicians, in general, are open to new modalities of treatment, but are often hard to convince without quality evidence of efficacy. If you want to prove the effectiveness of these treatments, you must be prepared to show quality, scientific studies to support their results. Quality scientific data requires, at least, prospective, double-blind, controlled investigation. Armed with this data, you must then present it to physicians and let them reach their own decisions as to the reliability of the studies and the data.

Most likely, the physicians you want to reach are the ophthalmologists in the community. Most cities have local ophthalmological societies. By contacting that organization, you might be able to reach a consensus of ophthalmologists all at once.
