Are blue blocker sunglasses harmful to vision? Or do they produce any long-term effects altering vision?

Answered by Richard E. Gans, M. D. (reg@ofcn.org)

These glasses are not harmful. They produce no long-term problems. "Blue Blocker" glasses filter out ultraviolet as well as blue wavelengths of light. That is all.
