I would be interested in talking to persons who have had this surgery done. What was there experience? How do they feel about it now? Where did they have it done? How long did it take? How much did it cost? What was your recovery time? How much correction did you recieve? What is your vision now?

If this is not the right place to talk to this type of person, can you recommend a web sight where this type of subject could be discussed?

LASIK is a new refractive surgery procedure. It is done to correct nearsightedness or farsightedness. Excimer laser, combined with a surgical procedure, reshapes the curvature of the cornea and thereby corrects the focusing abnormality. At present, LASIK is not approved for general use in the United States. Before it is approved by the Food and Drug Administration, it must be proven safe and effective.

A good place to get opinions from treated patients might be the Usenet newsgroup called sci.med.vision
