What could be the cause of me getting hives when I go outdoors in the cold
(Cold being less that app. 60 deg.) and slightly to heavy winds ? Also
when I come in from the come inside out of the cold my skin feels hot. I
also feel hot inside. This happens anywhere. I also don't have any reactions
to any foods, at least I do don't think so. What do you think ???
This just started the past few years.
I'm 37 years old. (male) In good health. HELP !!!

ANSWER: Hives are a reaction pattern. They can, in fact, be related to cold, but there are fairly simple tests to determine if you have so-called "cold urticaria". Urticaria is the fancy word for hives. If your hives have been going on for more than 2 months, then you owe it to yourself to see an interested dermatologist or allergist to begin testing and see if you can identify the offending agent(s).
