I am a diabetic..I am impotent ..I would like to know what treatments are available for me
Answer ---------
Unfortunately, this is a common problem due to damage to small nerves and blood vessels that can't be directly and specifically reversed. Working hard to keep you blood sugars down with diet, exercise and taking medicines as prescribed might help maintain remaining function.
A visit to a good urologist would be your best bet to get some remediation of inability to have an erection. They could tell you much more about available treatments. I am a family physician.
I do know about some general categories of treatments, though. Special elastic bands can be helpful to increase weak erections and have the advantage of no chemical side effects. Injections with vasoconstrictive medications are effective but require special training. Yohimbine pills have limited effectiveness and some side effects. Counseling and stress reduction may be the most important treatment in most cases of impotence.
Protection against sexually transmitted diseases and unintended pregnancy requires using a condom.
I encourage you to pursue treatment. Sexual relationships can be important to your happiness and psycologic health. I encourage you to look into online or in-person self help groups, like the one on America Online under keyword, health.
